So my accounting professor was at Ford for years and uses automotive manufacturing examples in his homework...which is nice. I think it’s going to dramatically increase how much I enjoy the assignments. Here is a sample from the latest where I provide financial justification for automation vs manual labor on the “F-350 Thunderbird”

“ · Finally, serious scrutiny ought to be given towards the name “thunderbird” as a model designator for the F-350. As the last generation thunderbird owners will all have surely died out by now its brand recognition value is therefore suspect. I humbly suggest ThuderCougarFalconBird as a suitable replacement, or perhaps “Supreme Ruler Ranch”

Thats all.

Solid analysis as the last two generations of thunderbird were pretty meh and neither have aged well enough to help its view.

Also I love that episode, it sums up so much of the car buying experience.

T hat is cool, makes the whole class  more interesting.  I had an econ prof in college who had an e-type Jag and was part owner in a small winery so many examples came from there.

it scored me some points for using automotive manufacture terminology to pose a question last class . I guess he had friends who were process engineers so it certainly caught his attention.  Who knew Oppo would actually pay off?
